A
brothel (or seraglio) scene set in a seventeenth-century Dutch
interior; at centre, a man and a woman engaged in intercourse, he
sitting in an armchair, wearing a skullcap and holding a flagon in his
left hand against a low wooden stool, she sitting on top of him, wearing
a short cap and drop earrings, and holding up a glass with an ornate
stem; a second couple on a raised bed behind at right; a pot hanging in
the fireplace at left, dog and cat on the floor at right; heavily
trimmed within the design at top.

men creeping round an open doorway at left to look at two lovers on a
couch; one of the men, presumably the woman's husband, aims a large gun
at the pair; a large framed painting on the wall of the husband wearing
the Garter star, looming above the lovers; window at right.

who kneels on top of him; at right, another young woman seated at the
piano, her clothing much awry, reaching over to assist in proceedings;
chaise longue in foreground, music books on the floor, curtains to
either side.

her maid-servant holds a mirror for her and sniggers with amusement; a
cat arches its back in fright and a dog dives for cover under the young
woman's corset which is lying on the floor.

Agostino Carracci - Satyr Mason
According
to art historian Patricia Simons, the plumb line "is a pendulous
instrument that sways rhythmically but finds the true vertical, and a
carnival song likened it to a cleansing plunger that removes 'grease.' …
The obvious bulge in the satyr mason's apron is both a satirical
comment on censorship and an example of how arousal was frequently

In
the center of the composition we see an elegant maiden lying with her
yellow satin skirts billowing up around her waist and putti igniting the
"fires of love" while above the heavens are trying to put them out with
torrents of water. The men, eager for a different outcome, raise their
umbrellas determined to keep the fires burning.

The figure in this image is known as the "Leckarsch".
Translated into english as the "lick ass".
